Trainero documents PDF downloads of workout and diet plans and .xlsx sales and leads reports from its Online Store. Its help center describes no client list or form response export. A REST API can read client and plan data with credentials from Trainero. Cancelling orders or letting your plan lapse cuts client access, so move in order.
Published by Coachway. The product instructions below come from the linked official documentation, checked September 25, 2026. They describe available exports, not a completed test of your account or a guarantee that another platform can import the files.
What you can export from Trainero
Workout and diet plans: PDFs to rebuild from
Trainero's workout guide says the menu on each workout lets you print or save it as a PDF, and that whole workout plans, single workouts and workouts in a timeline have 'PDF' and 'Share' buttons. The diet guide says you can download, save or print a diet day as PDF, and that whole diet plans and meal plans have the same buttons.
A PDF is a reference for rebuilding. Trainero documents no plan export in a format built for another platform, and the exercises and food items you added to its collections have no documented export either. Rebuild a few representative plans in the destination first, then estimate the rest from how long those took.

Sales and leads: .xlsx reports from the Online Store
On the Online Store Orders tab, the chart button downloads a sales report for the time range you choose. Trainero says the file is .xlsx and includes order details such as client name, order number, quantities, transaction date and a price breakdown by tax, shipping and product.
On the Marketing tab, the Leads page has a download button for an .xlsx leads report with date, client name, email address, telephone number, source and status.
Neither report is a client list. The sales report covers orders and the leads report covers leads, and Trainero also lets you invite clients directly by email. Cross-check both files against the Clients page so no one is missed.
- Open the Online Store, go to Orders, set the time range and select the chart button to download the sales report.
- Open the Marketing tab and use the download button on the Leads page for the leads report.
- Save both files and note the date range each one covers.

Client and plan data: the REST API, if Trainero enables it
Trainero's API page says its JSON REST API can read client details, sign-in times, program details and workout completion times, and that webhooks report events such as a trainer adding a new client. The API documentation says you log in with an API ID and API key provided by Trainero Developer Support, and that the token acts with the main trainer's access.
The documented client response includes name, email, phone, address, notes, background information, height, starting weight and the names of the client's workout and diet plans. The workout detail response includes exercises, sets, target reps and weights, rest, instructions and, when you pass a client ID, that client's logged results. The diet plan response lists plan names, daily diet names, dates and completion, not food items.
The published endpoints cover the account, clients, trainers, workout plans and diet plans. They do not list form responses, progress tracking entries, chat messages or files. The API page is titled Plans for Enterprises and carries a Contact Sales button, and credentials come from Trainero, so confirm that your plan includes access before you rely on it.

A data request to Trainero
Trainero's client terms say the coach is the data controller for client data and Trainero is the processor. With no documented bulk export, ask Trainero in writing what it can return to you and in what format, naming the records you need: client details, form responses, progress entries, files and chat.
Trainero's privacy statement for business customers lists a right to transfer data from one system to another and names [email protected] as the contact for register matters. That statement covers your own details as a Trainero customer, such as name, organization, contact details and orders, and it does not state a format or response time. General support is [email protected].
Send the request early and keep the reply. Do not fix a switch date around a file you have not yet received and checked.

Trainero bills through its Online Store, with Stripe as one option
Trainero's Online Store settings list 14 ready-to-use payment integrations, and you can activate one or more. For recurring products, the product guide describes subscription pricing with an auto-cancel option and the option to use Stripe to charge the client's card automatically. Trainero says your company receives the payments without intermediaries.
The help center does not describe how recurring orders are held in Stripe or another provider, or whether they can be moved. Before you change anything, download the sales report, list each active recurring order with its client, product, payment method and next invoice, and check the same clients in your payment provider's dashboard. If you use Stripe, Stripe documents exporting customer details from the Customers section of its dashboard.
Moving recurring billing is a separate task. Stripe documents a Billing migration toolkit for moving existing subscriptions, including from an existing Stripe account, but that does not mean Trainero or the destination supports it for your account. Agree the last Trainero invoice and the first new charge for each client so no one is billed twice. If the destination is Coachway, payouts go to your own Stripe account and built-in payments cost 2.4% per transaction.
Trainero also lets you add orders by hand and mark invoices as paid, and its FAQ mentions sending clients to a PayPal payment page. List any clients you bill outside the store's automatic invoicing separately so they are not missed.

Cancelling a Trainero order removes the client's content
Trainero says cancelling a recurring order stops further extensions and invoicing, sets it to Pending cancellation, and removes content from the client when the invoicing period ends. Terminate Order, which appears after cancelling, removes all content from the client's account immediately.
Trainero's store page also says recurring invoicing sends payment reminders and, if necessary, denies access to the app and the content. A client who stops paying a Trainero invoice before moving can lose access mid-switch. Save the plan PDFs and client records first, and cancel each order only once that client is using the new app.

Ending your Trainero plan suspends your clients
Trainero's API documentation says that if the account's order is not active or the trial has ended, client accounts are automatically suspended. Keep your Trainero plan active until the last group of clients has moved and your records are saved.
Do not treat a dormant account as an archive. Trainero's client terms say that if the service is not used for more than 12 months, Trainero deletes the health-related information saved in the client account. Its FAQ also suggests deleting plans to stay under your plan quota, so save PDFs before you delete anything.

Clients need new logins, and white-label apps sit in your developer accounts
Trainero clients get a username, password and app download link by email when you invite them. Send every client login instructions for the destination, and check that each one has logged in before their Trainero access ends.
On the White Label plan, Trainero's setup guides have you publish the app from your own Apple and Google developer accounts and give Trainero App Manager and Admin access, plus API keys for automated releases. The guides do not say what happens to the app when you leave. Agree that with Trainero, and remove its access in App Store Connect and Google Play Console once the app is settled.

Before you cancel Trainero
- Save PDFs of the workout and diet plans you will rebuild, starting with those your active clients use now.
- Download the Online Store sales report and leads report for the full date range you need, and cross-check them against the Clients page.
- Ask Trainero about API access and what client data, form responses and progress entries it can return, and keep the replies.
- List each active recurring order with its client, payment method and next invoice date, and check it in your payment provider's dashboard.
- Move clients in groups, confirm each one has logged in to the new app, then cancel their Trainero order and keep your plan active until the last group has moved.
Choose the switch date after a sample migration passes. The required overlap depends on rebuild work, provider support, client availability and billing dates. Clear communication helps, but it cannot guarantee retention or repair missing data.
Use the full migration checklist and client message to plan each wave. If you are still evaluating the destination, use the software trial scorecard. Keep any sample shared for an initial assessment limited to what the provider needs.
Questions about leaving Trainero
Can I export my client list from Trainero?
Trainero's help center documents no client list export. The Online Store sales report includes client names on orders, and the leads report includes lead names, emails and phone numbers. The REST API can read client details, including contact information, with an API ID and key from Trainero Developer Support.
Can I download Trainero workout and diet plans?
Yes, as PDFs. Trainero's guides say you can print or save a workout as PDF and download or print a diet day as PDF, and whole plans have PDF buttons. Treat the PDFs as a reference for rebuilding the plans in the destination.
Does Trainero use Stripe?
Stripe is one option. Trainero's product settings let a recurring product use Stripe to charge the client's card automatically, and its Online Store lists 14 payment integrations. Check which methods you activated and where each active subscription is billed before you plan the move.
Considering Coachway? Bring a sample export and ask us which parts become editable plans, which need rebuilding, what remains an archive and how your existing billing would be handled. Agree the scope before inviting your clients. If you are still deciding whether to switch at all, the Coachway vs Trainero comparison sets the two side by side.
The trial starts with a card held by Stripe and cancels under Billing before it renews, so you can run a few real clients in both tools before you move the rest.
